Intrinsic surface p-wave superconductivity in layered AuSn₄

The authors study the layered superconductor AuSn₄ (T_c = 2.4 K) and reveal a two-fold symmetric angular dependence, consistent with unconventional pairing. They argue that the two-fold symmetry results from the Rashba-driven mixture of p-wave surface and s-wave bulk contributions.

Molten salt aluminium-sulfur batteries exhibit high-rate capability and moderate energy density, but suffer from high operating temperature. Here the authors demonstrate a rapidly charging aluminum-sulfur battery operating at 85 °C enabled by a quaternary alkali chloroaluminate electrolyte.

A solution-to-solid conversion chemistry enables ultrafast-charging and long-lived molten salt aluminium batteries

Conventional solid-to-solid conversion cathodes in rechargeable aluminium batteries suffer from sluggish reaction kinetics and cumulative structural degradation. Cs₂AgBiBr₆ single-crystal X-ray detectors with a low detection limit

Double perovskite Cs₂AgBiBr₆ single crystals are used to make a sensitive X-ray detector. The device exhibits a high sensitivity of 105 µC Gy_air ⁻¹ cm⁻² and a low detection limit of 59.7 nGy_airs⁻¹, and demonstrates long-term operational stability.

Critical role of orbital hybridization in the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction of magnetic interfaces

Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction is foundational for spintronics.
