Guo, Chen et al. evaluate the efficacy of in vivo keratotomy based on mid-infrared femtosecond laser with a wavelength of 6.1 μm which coincides to the amide-Ι resonant mode compared to the traditional near-infrared femtosecond lasers. Findings reveal that mid-infrared femtosecond laser exhibits favourable ablative efficiency and biosafety in mice.
