Using social media posts from the FBI criminal case files for individuals charged with violent and non-violent crimes during the capitol breach in the USA on January 6th, 2021, natural language analyses identified that violent rioters used rhetoric which displayed weaker group affiliation and lower unquestioning loyalty to a particular cause as compared to non-violent rioters.
