Polysiloxane elastomers require chemical crosslinking and show poor depolymerization. Here, the authors report tellurium containing polysiloxane copolymers featuring periodic Si–O–Te–O backbones. They possess good mechanical properties without the need for crosslinking and undergo depolymerization under mild conditions.
