Through metagenomics, Bray et al. identified Klebsiella pneumoniae interacting microbiota partners in the gut, and a transposon mutagenesis screen revealed a role for its T6SS in gut colonization, with t6ss transcription only occurring in vitro under GI-mimetic conditions.
