Current psychotherapies for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in children and adolescents often fail, especially within non-Western and ethnic minority populations. In this meta-analysis, the authors consolidate the most recent evidence regarding creative arts-based interventions for youth suffering from PTSD, underscoring their effectiveness, particularly for non-Western populations such as West African and Middle Eastern youth, and stressing the necessity for more culturally tailored and high-quality randomized controlled trials.
