Constructing flexible sub-nanometer ferroelectric catalyst to overcome heterocatalytic kinetic barriers for enhanced catalytic and immuno-therapy

Piezoelectric catalysts are promising for nanocatalytic therapy, but their therapeutic effects are often hindered by heterocatalytic kinetic barriers. Here, the authors address this issue by developing sub-nanometer Hf_0.5Zr_0.5O₂ nanowires of polymer-like flexibility as piezoelectric catalysts for cancer treatment.

Intermetallics triggering pyroptosis and disulfidptosis in cancer cells promote anti-tumor immunity

Excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in cancer cells can induce immunogenic cell death (ICD) and promote anti-tumor immune responses. Here the authors report that intermetallics modified with glucose oxidase and soybean phospholipid as nano-inducers promote cancer cell pyroptosis and disulfidptosis, resulting in ICD and anti-tumor immunity in preclinical models.
