TSLP promotes GATA3-expressing effector regulatory T cells via DC2 derived from transitional DCs

Recent work has revealed that dendritic cells (DCs) are more heterogeneous than previously thought, yet the functional roles of these newly described DC subsets remain unclear. Here, Li et al. find that in mice, TSLP from keratinocytes activates transitional DC-derived DC2 to promote GATA3⁺ regulatory T cells and mediate immunosuppression during inflammation and cancer.

Here the authors examine the difference between superficial or deep skin sensitisation, characterise the immune cells generated and show differential TSLP and IL-1β involvement.

Skin thymic stromal lymphopoietin initiates Th2 responses through an orchestrated immune cascade

Thymic stromal lymphopoietin is an important initiator of Th2 responses, but, to date, little is known about how it drives the immune cascade in the tissue microenvironment in vivo. Here, the authors show that skin thymic stromal lymphopoietin orchestrate interactions between immune cells, leading to Th2 priming.
