Controlling the helicity of light by electrical magnetization switching

The helicity of light from a light-emitting diode can be electrically controlled by spin–orbit torque effects, enabling a seamless integration of magnetization dynamics with photonics.

Kapitza-resistance-like exciton dynamics in atomically flat MoSe₂-WSe₂ lateral heterojunction

Here, the authors use tip-enhanced photoluminescence spectroscopy to show a discontinuity of the exciton density distribution on each side of the interface of a MoSe₂/WSe₂ lateral heterostructure. They introduce the concept of ‘exciton Kapitza resistance’ by analogy with the interfacial thermal resistance known as ‘Kapitza resistance’.

Interface engineering of charge-transfer excitons in 2D lateral heterostructures

The authors unveil the many-particle processes underpinning the formation of bound charge transfer excitons at the interface of hBN-encapsulated lateral MoSe₂-WSe₂ heterostructures. The excitons can be tuned via interface (i.e. high quality lateral junction) and dielectric (i.e. hBN encapsulation) engineering.

Electrical spin injection and detection in molybdenum disulfide multilayer channel

MoS₂ is a promising two-dimensional candidate for opto-electronic and spintronic applications. Here, the authors report electrical spin injection and detection in a few-layered MoS₂ channel, demonstrating that the spin diffusion length is at least 235 nm in MoS₂conduction band.
