The Tad pilus is involved in the formation of antibiotic-resistant biofilms in many bacteria, including the human pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The authors report the structure of the Tad pilus protein RcpC, demonstrating that it forms its alignment complex, bridging the inner and outer-membrane elements.
