Despite sulfur's extensive involvement in numerous geochemical reactions, its behavior and speciation in terrestrial fluid under high pressure and high temperature conditions characteristic of Earth's interior remain poorly understood. Here, the authors present an analytical protocol specifically designed for the synthesis and precise measurement of ultra-low quantities of sulfur volatile species (H2S and SO2) generated under high pressure, high temperature, and controlled redox conditions.
