Wang et al. apply a spatial omics N-glycan imaging method to identify altered glycosylation in hepatocellular cancer tissue and matched serum samples identifying alteration in over 50 proteins. Machine learning biomarker algorithms developed through multi-protein glycan analysis could serve as potential biomarkers for early detection.
