The frequency of aberrant alternative splicing events increases with age in breast cancer patients, including 390 high-variability-specific splicing events that are exclusively observed in older adults with breast cancer. Alternative splicing events can also be used to resolve three distinct subtypes of older adults with breast cancer, and predict the prognosis of older patients.
