Violation of emergent rotational symmetry in the hexagonal Kagome superconductor CsV₃Sb₅

Superconductors with hexagonal symmetry are expected to be isotropic particularly near the critical temperature Tc, a property called emergent rotational symmetry (ERS). Here, the authors use calorimetry to study the hexagonal kagome superconductor CsV3Sb5 and find a violation of the expected ERS, hinting at realization of exotic superconductivity.

Novel spin dynamics in the superconducting state of kagomé superconductor

Superconducting (SC) properties of the kagome-lattice superconductor CsV₃Sb₅were investigated via ¹²¹Sb nuclear quadrupole resonance and ⁵¹V NMR. A clear Hebel-Slichter peak indicates conventional superconductivity in zero field, while enhanced spin fluctuations deep in the SC state might suggest unconventional features induced by magnetic field.

Akira Meguro et al. report a genome-wide association study for sarcoidosis—a systemic inflammatory disease—in the Japanese population. They identify 3 non-HLA loci with genome-wide significance, 2 of which have not been previously associated with sarcoidosis in any population.
