  • Cardiovascular involvement is one of the many manifestations of rheumatic immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs) that increase mortality. The pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and inflammatory cardiomyopathies involves inflammatory pathways common with those operating and targeted in rheumatic IMIDs.
