Core cysteine residues in the Plasminogen-Apple-Nematode (PAN) domain are essential for HGF/c-MET signaling and regulate their interaction, perinuclear localization, and cellular internalization. Thus, targeting PAN may represent a mechanism for the selective regulation of the c-MET pathway, with relevance to cancer treatment.
