Super stretchable hydrogel achieved by non-aggregated spherulites with diameters <5 nm

Hydrogels containing nanoparticles have enhanced mechanical properties that can be limited if the size of the crosslinking nanoparticles is too large. Here, Zhang and others have produced non-aggregated spherulite nanoparticles with diameters of less than 5 nm and investigated their effect on hydrogels.

A clean transfer approach to prepare centimetre-scale black phosphorus crystalline multilayers on silicon substrates for field-effect transistors

Black phosphorus (BP) is a 2D semiconductor with potential for (opto-)electronic applications, but its large-scale integration with Si substrates is challenging. Here, the authors report a method to transfer cm-scale BP films onto SiO₂/Si substrates retaining their uniformity and electrical properties.

Hybrid nanodiamond quantum sensors enabled by volume phase transitions of hydrogels

Nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamonds are used for quantum sensing but NV centers are not sensitive to parameters such as temperature, pressure and biomolecules. Here the authors propose a scheme based on a magnetic nanoparticle docked responsive hydrogel which acts as a transducer between the particles and the diamond.
