Copolymerization of methacrylates and vinyl esters is extremely challenging because of their large difference in reactivity ratio. Here, the authors design a side-armed bisoxazoline catalyst which achieves strong binding ability to propagating radicals in photoinduced cobalt-mediated radical polymerization, enabling the facile synthesis of methacrylate-vinyl ester copolymers.
