Crystallization suppression of mixed-halide intermediates for perovskite/Cu(In,Ga)Se₂ tandem solar cells with improved efficiency

The efficiency of perovskite/Cu(In,Ga)Se₂ tandem solar cells is limited by halide segregation in the perovskite layer. Zhang et al. use 2-pyrrolidinone to slow the crystallization of halide intermediates, ensuring a homogeneous distribution and achieving a power conversion efficiency of 27.3%.

Reversible calcium alloying enables a practical room-temperature rechargeable calcium-ion battery with a high discharge voltage

Calcium-ion batteries are potentially attractive alternatives to lithium-ion batteries, but remain largely unexplored because of low performance. A reversible calcium alloying/de-alloying reaction with the tin anode has now been coupled with the intercalation/de-intercalation of hexafluorophosphate in the graphite cathode to enable a calcium-ion battery that operates stably at room temperature.

Facile transformation of imine covalent organic frameworks into ultrastable crystalline porous aromatic frameworks

Despite recent success in developing new covalent organic frameworks (COFs) materials, synthesis of chemically stable COFs still remains challenging. Here the authors demonstrate a facile strategy that transforms imine-linked COFs into robust porous aromatic frameworks by kinetically fixing the reversible imine linkage via an aza-Diels-Alder cycloaddition reaction.

Atmospheric modulation of apparent electrical conductivity in a metal−organic framework

Reliable electrical conductivity characterization in metal-organic frameworks remains challenging due to their high sensitivity to the atmosphere. Here, the adsorption of water in a Cd₂ (TTFTB) metal-organic framework improves the apparent room-temperature electrical conductivity by one to two orders of magnitude.

STING expression in monocyte-derived macrophages is associated with the progression of liver inflammation and fibrosis in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease

The expression of the stimulator of interferon genes (STING) in liver tissues is associated with the progression of human nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Specifically, STING-expressing macrophages, in particular, monocyte-derived macrophages, are positively correlated with the degree of liver inflammation and/or fibrosis progression, which appeared to be mediated by the activation of the STING-TBK1 signaling pathway in macrophage.
