Mallikourti et al. assess whether breast cancer can be detected at low magnetic fields ranging from 2.3 mT to 200 mT using endogenous T1 contrast, thereby eliminating the need for contrast agents. They show this method of field cycling imaging can differentiate invasive from non-invasive breast tumours in people with breast cancer.
