Ultrasound imaging (USI) can be used to diagnose liver steatosis but has limitations. Here the authors report the use of 3D multiparametric USI of hepatic vessels as a potential diagnostic method for liver steatosis in rats, however, translatability to human liver steatosis remains to be shown.
