Design optimization of bifacial perovskite minimodules for improved efficiency and stability

The performance of perovskite bifacial modules is still relatively poor. Now Gu et al. optimize the design of minimodules and achieve a power density of 23 mW cm⁻² at an albedo of 0.2 and operational stability of 6,000 h.

Aurora kinase A-mediated phosphorylation triggers structural alteration of Rab1A to enhance ER complexity during mitosis

Here, the authors show how Aurora kinase A (AURKA) employs Rab1a to direct ER remodeling. Activated Rab1A is retained on the ER and directly interacts with the RTN/REEP ER-shaping machinery to promote its oligomerization, eventually triggering an increase of ER complexity during mitosis.

A recurrent ECSIT mutation in individuals with extranodal natural killer/T cell lymphoma induces NFκB in cancer cells, leading to macrophage activation, and associates with progression to fatal hemophagocytic syndrome. NFκB-targeting therapy produced stable remission in two patients.

Three body photodissociation of the water molecule and its implications for prebiotic oxygen production

Three-body dissociation of water, producing one oxygen and two hydrogen atoms, has been difficult to investigate due to the lack of intense vacuum ultraviolet sources. Here, using a tunable free-electron laser, the authors obtain quantum yields for this channel showing that it is a possible route to prebiotic oxygen formation in interstellar environments.

Prostate stromal cells can contribute to prostate tumorigenesis. Here the authors show that the loss of androgen receptor signalling in Gli1-lineage stromal cells diminishes prostate epithelial oncogenic transformation and tumor growth in mouse models and this is due to insulin-like growth factor binding protein 3-mediated inhibiting IGF1 and Wnt/β-catenin signalling activation.

Activation of the androgen receptor (AR) through androgen binding is essential for prostate tumorigenesis.
