Adaptive dynamic kinetic resolution enables alteration of chiral induction with ring sizes

In drug development, altering the ring sizes and editing the stereochemistry of chiral heterocycle scaffolds in lead compounds are effective but challenging. Now an adaptive dynamic kinetic resolution strategy has been developed that enables the integration of multi-contiguous stereocentres and the assembly of complex polycycles such as martinellic acid.

hnRNPL phase separation activates PIK3CB transcription and promotes glycolysis in ovarian cancer

The RNA binding protein hnRNPL is recruited to chromatin by the PIK3CB promoter-transcribed non-coding RNA and forms phase-separated condensates, which activates PIK3CB transcription and glycolysis, thus promoting ovarian cancer progression.

Urea synthesis via electrocatalytic oxidative coupling of CO with NH₃ on Pt

Electrocatalytic urea formation most commonly involves the co-reduction of NO_x species with CO₂. This limits overall energy efficiency as commodity-scale NO_x is produced from N₂ via NH₃. The swings in nitrogen oxidation state can be minimized through direct oxidative electrocatalytic reaction of CO and NH₃ to urea, as shown in this study.
