A dynamically phase-adaptive regulating hydrogel promotes ultrafast anti-fibrotic wound healing

It is challenging to achieve scar-free repair of chronic wounds as they often feature the occurrence of multiple healing phases in an unpredictable and nonlinear manner. Here, the authors report a healing phase-adaptive regulating hydrogel that exhibits hierarchically delivering performance for programmed modulation of chronic infected wounds.

Electron correlation and incipient flat bands in the Kagome superconductor CsCr₃Sb₅

The authors investigate the electronic structure of kagome CsCr₃Sb₅ using high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and ab-initio calculations. The results identify CsCr₃Sb₅ as a strongly correlated Hund’s metal with incipient flat bands near the Fermi level.

Subsecond multichannel magnetic control of select neural circuits in freely moving flies

Here the authors describe a method for remote magnetothermal stimulation of neurons that achieves subsecond behavioural responses in Drosophila fruit flies by combining magnetic nanoparticles with TRPA1-A, a rate-sensitive thermoreceptor. Tuning the properties of magnetic nanoparticles to respond to different magnetic field strengths and frequencies enables multichannel thermal magnetogenetic stimulation.

BRIT1/MCPH1 links chromatin remodelling to DNA damage response

Chromatin decondensation is required for repair factors to access damaged DNA. BRIT1/MCPH1, a damage response protein mutated in microcephaly, recruits the chromatin remodelling complex SWI/SNF to sites of DNA damage after phosphorylation by ATM/ATR. This mechanism is critical for efficient DNA repair and survival.
