Hypoxia-tropic delivery of nanozymes targeting transferrin receptor 1 for nasopharyngeal carcinoma radiotherapy sensitization

Transferrin receptor 1 (TfR1) has been shown to be upregulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Here the authors report that TfR1 can be targeted in hypoxic NPC lesions using ferritin nanozymes.

Improving polyketide biosynthesis by rescuing the translation of truncated mRNAs into functional polyketide synthase subunits

Genes encoding bacterial modular polyketide synthases (mPKSs) are usually longer than 10 kb and their mRNAs have high risk of being truncated. Here, the authors showed that they can enhance mPKS-based natural product biosynthesis by rescuing the translation of truncated mRNAs through PKS module splitting.

Matching the kinetics of natural enzymes with a single-atom iron nanozyme

Nanozymes can provide cost and stability advantages over natural enzymes, but they usually display low catalytic activity and inferior kinetics. Now, a highly active nanozyme is developed that shows comparable kinetics to horseradish peroxidase in the oxidation of a commonly used artificial substrate.
