  1. ABRs were determined using 4 eight-week-old male mice for each genotype (WT, PTNKO, MKKO or DKO). The threshold was defined as the lowest intensity producing a clearly visible first peak of wave. The ABR threshold was defined as 105 dB SPL, if the mouse did not respond to an intensity of 100 dB SPL. The average thresholds ±s.d. are shown. All four of DKO mice exhibited the value of 105 dB at eight and 12 kHz. At 16 kHz, two DKO mice exhibited the value of 105 dB, and the remaining two mice did that of 100 dB. At 20 kHz, three DKO mice exhibited the value of 105 and one mouse did that of 100. *P<0.01 compared to WT mice; **P<0.01 compared to MKKO or PTNKO mice.
