Replying to B. G. Hughes & S. Hekimi Nature 546, 10.1038/nature22786 (2017)

In the accompanying Comment1, Hughes and Hekimi disagree with our finding of a limit to human lifespan2. Although we thank them for alerting us to the work of Anerto-Jaquemin et al.3, who also reported a limit of around 115 years, we disagree with the arguments presented by Hughes and Hekimi1 and remain confident in our results.
