Experiments were carried out under ultraviolet–visible irradiation in the presence (black line) and in the absence (green and red lines) of TEOA as sacrificial agent using a 2 × 2-cm2 /ml-G film (Au content 1 μg cm−2, total photocatalyst mass including ml-G 4.25 μg cm−2). The red line corresponds to the experiment in the absence of TEOA without any filter, while the green line was obtained irradiating through an ultraviolet cutoff filter. The plots show the H2 production with the estimated errors (calculated as the square root of the sum of (a-ā)2, being a the value of the data set and ā the mean of the data set, divide by the number of data points) referred to the total Au plus ml-G photocatalyst amount (see Methods section for the estimation of ml-G weight).
