Achievement (ACH) | The need to achieve something important and difficult, to compete with and surpass the performance of others |
Affiliation (AFF) | The need to form close emotional relationships, to always have someone to share your feelings with, to stick with friends and remain loyal to them |
Aggression (AGG) | The need to avenge an offence, to be angry and destroy things, to mock others and make fun of them |
Defence of status (DST) | The need to defend one’s status, to refrain from actions or behaviour in order to avoid failure, to be sensitive to the opinions of others |
Guilt feelings (GUI) | The need to have high ethical standards and a strong sense of duty, to often examine and regret past actions and thoughts |
Dominance (DOM) | The need to be the leader, to influence others more than to be influenced, to assert one’s own opinion when it conflicts with the opinion of others |
Exhibition (EXH) | The need to be noticed and be at the centre of attention, to be witty, funny, and entertaining, to shock and amaze others |
Autonomy (AUT) | The need to feel independent, to be indifferent to the opinions of others, to avoid responsibility, to have the urge to do things that are considered immoral |
Nurturance (NUR) | The need to help and care for others, to be willing to lend or give to people in need |
Order (ORD) | The need for organisation, planning and cleanliness, getting annoyed with people who are not tidy and punctual |
Succorance (SUC) | The need to be cared for both emotionally and practically, to feel abandoned and excluded when alone |
