Holding the system at temperature Texp, just below the transition, a conducting plate is actuated in close proximity to a superconductor to modulate the Casimir contribution to its total free energy change of condensation (ΔF), and thereby Tc. The two positions shown correspond to the maximum and minimum gap sizes due to an oscillation of the plate
