The Editors-in-Chief have retracted this article. After publication, concerns were raised regarding high image similarities within the article and with another publication from the same authors. Specifically:

  • Fig. 1C, Metastasis C and Fig. 1C, Non-metastasis C appear to partially overlap

  • Fig. 3B, AJAP1 (HCCLM3) and ESM MOESM11, miR-532-3p-KIFC1 (SK-Hep-1) (Migration) appear to partially overlap

  • Fig. 4C, KIFC1 (SMMC7721) Vimentin-DAPI and Merge and Fig. 4C, shAJAP1 (SMMC7721) Vimentin-DAPI and Merge [1] appear to be highly similar

  • Fig. 6G, miR-532-3p (HCCLM3) (Invasion) and Fig, 3B, AJAP1 (HCCLM3) [1] appear to partially overlap

  • Fig. 6G, miR-532-3p (SK-Hep-1) (Invasion) and EMS MOESM4, B, shKIFC1 (SK-Hep-1) (Invasion) appear to be highly similar

  • Fig. 6G, miR-532-3p–KIFC1 (SK-Hep-1) (Invasion) and ESM MOESM4, B, shCon (SK-Hep-1) (Invasion) appear to be highly similar

  • Fig. 7A, p-AKT lane 1 and 2 (SK-Hep-1) and Fig. 7, E-cadherin, lane 2 and 3 (SK-Hep-1) appear to be highly similar

  • ESM MOESM4, B, shKIFC1 (SK-Hep-1) (Migration) and ESM MOESM11, miR-532-3p (SK-Hep-1) (Migration) appear to be highly similar

  • ESM MOESM4, B, shCon (SK-Hep-1) (Migration) and ESM MOESM11, Lv-NC (SK-Hep-1) (Migration) appear to be highly similar

The authors admitted the errors and requested a correction. However, due to the number of errors, the Editors-in-Chief no longer have confidence in the presented data.

Authors Jihua Han, Fengyue Wang, Chunlei Nie, Shangha Pan, Tiemin Pei, Xirui Liu, Mingxi Zhu, Yan Wang, Yao Liu, Fanzheng Meng, Xianzhi Meng, Ruipeng Song, Jiewu Zhang, Yingjian Liang and Lianxin Liu disagree with this retraction. Authors Yaliang Lan, Jiabei Wang, Tongsen Zheng, Changming Xie, Guangchao Yang, Yifeng Cui, Bo Zhang and Yufeng Liu did not respond to correspondence from the Publisher about this retraction.
