The “Hypertension Zero Town” project in the 47th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Society of Hypertension

The “Hypertension Zero Town” project is a nationwide community-based program launched by the Japanese Society of Hypertension (JSH) to promote comprehensive hypertension prevention and management at the municipal level [1]. The project aims to create communities where residents can live free from hypertension by fostering public awareness, encouraging lifestyle modification, and strengthening cooperation among healthcare providers, local governments, and citizens. Since its inception in 2019, the project has expanded through collaboration with municipalities across Japan [2, 3].

As part of a special conference program, panels introducing the activities of municipalities participating in the “Hypertension Zero Town” project were exhibited at the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store, located near the conference venue (Supplemental Figs. 1 and 2). The exhibition also featured an overview of related activities by the JSH. As a part of the JSH’s kiosk blood pressure project [4], an automated rolling-type sphygmomanometer was installed adjacent to the display (Supplementary Fig. 1). This device was used by many visitors, which helped to raise public awareness of the hypertension prevention program.
