Behavioral task. To initiate a trial, subjects fixated a point in the center of the task screen for 450 ms. A picture that predicted the amount and type of reward appeared, and the subject was required to acquire and hold fixation on the picture for an additional 450 ms. Then one of two images instructed the subject to move a joystick to the right (R) or left (L). If the joystick response was executed correctly, the subject received a reward probabilistically predicted by the initial picture. Half of the pictures predicted juice reward and half predicted secondary reinforcement
