Representation of the transition from stable shear zone flow to seismogenic fault slip. Non-dilatant, ductile flow by creep-accommodated grain boundary sliding (GBS) transitions upon the onset of cavitation to a regime of incompletely creep-accommodated GBS and v-weakening frictional sliding.
