Circadian electrophysiological rhythms in isolated human RBCs depend upon extracellular [K+]. Circadian rhythms of G eff (a), and σ cyt (b), in isolated RBCs were not detected when the concentration of extracellular K+ was ≤25% of its normal concentration (5 mM). Mean ± SEM reported, n = 4 biological replicates, p values report the probability that data series are better described by a damped cosine model in preference to the null hypothesis (straight line); for p > 0.05 the straight line fit is shown, for p < 0.05 the damped cosine fit is shown (solid line)
