Clutter detection ratio that is defined as the number of clutter feature correctly classified as clutter over the total number of clutter features detected at each given depth, and related mean absolute deviation versus the equivalent penetration depth for the different data sets. The statistics were computed considering the SHARAD tracks displayed in Supplementary Fig. 4. The maximum equivalent clutter depth depends on the surface roughness. The rougher the surface the higher the measured maximum equivalent clutter depth for a given data set
