Evolution of the distribution of quantum states. a–c Colored dots: each frame represents the marginal distribution, in the x − y (a), x − z (b), and y − z (c) planes of the Bloch sphere, of the states of the qubit at a given time τ for 1.5 million realizations of the experiment, in the same experimental conditions as Fig. 2a. Each state (x, y, z) is reconstructed from the measurement records {u(t), v(t), w(t)} for time t between 0 and τ using Eq. (3).
