Coherent control of atomic spin in a metastable helium scattering halo. Rabi oscillation in the population fraction from a single rotation pulse with an amplitude of \(0.85(4)\) and effective Rabi frequency \(\Omega ^{\prime} =2\pi \cdot 50.3(3)\ {\rm{kHz}}\). The Larmor precession frequency of the atomic spins is \({\Omega }_{L}\approx 2\pi \cdot 1.4\ {\rm{MHz}}\) for a field of \(\sim{\!}0.5\ {\rm{G}}\). The error bars of the data points indicate statistical variations around different regions in the scattering sphere and the solid lines are sine fits to data
