From: Deletion of intestinal Hdac3 remodels the lipidome of enterocytes and protects mice from diet-induced obesity

Fig. 8

Pharmacological inhibition of HDAC3 induces lipid oxidation genes in enterocytes. The HDAC3 inhibitor (RGFP966) induces expression of fatty acid oxidation genes in small intestinal organoids in vitro and in enterocytes in vivo and reduces weight gain in WT mice. a Small intestinal organoids generated from 4–6-week-old C57BL/6 male mice fed a standard diet were treated with RGFP966 (100 μM) for 6 h, and gene expression changes determined by qPCR. Values shown are mean + SD or two independent experiments performed in triplicate. b C57BL/6 male mice 4–6 weeks of age were fed a standard chow diet supplemented with or without RGFP966 (150 mg/kg) for 8 days, and gene expression changes in the duodenum determined by qRT-PCR. Values shown in a and b are mean + SEM of n = 4 mice per treatment group, *P < 0.05, **P < 0.005, unpaired t test.
