Compared with REF, more stringent PM2.5-related mortality costs (PMMC) reduction targets lead to greater reductions of the primary PM2.5 (a) and SO2 (b) emissions in 2050, respectively, but minor reductions of NOx (c) and CO2 emissions (d). National emissions include anthropogenic sources from electricity, industry, transportation, and buildings sectors in continental US. Emissions from AK and HI are not included.
