The left-hand barplot of each graph represents an average over distributions obtained by 1000 random permutations of species involved in HTT. Asterisks indicate clades for which observed numbers of HTT were smaller or higher than those yielded by all permutations (p < 1‰), and numbers next to them are ratios between these observed and averaged simulated numbers of HTT events. For other clades, observed numbers were between the 2.5 and 97.5% quantiles of those yielded by permutations (p > 5%).
