Ψ(r) ∝ b(r) + θk2ω(r) is shown for \(\left|b\right\rangle \equiv \left|2{p}_{\pm }\right\rangle\) in hydrogen, in the xz plane, with z chosen to be the axis of the field polarization, at different values of ∣θ∣. For θ = 0, Ψ(r) ∝ b(r), while for θ = ∞, Ψ(r) ∝ k2ω(r). The colour indicates the sign, and the brightness indicates the amplitude, normalized to the maximum in each case.
