As a result of the cycled annealing treatment, the inserted metallic Sn nanoparticles exhibited a biological cell-like behavior and split into nanoparticles with smaller sizes. Additionally, the phase transitions from α-Sn to β-Sn and from amorphous carbon to graphitic carbon occurred.
