BAD is normally phosphorylated in the pubertal mammary gland and this is permissive for 4E-BP1 hyperphosphorylation and subsequent upregulation of localized translation for efficient cell migration and epithelial tree elongation. Preventing BAD phosphorylation (3SA) inhibits hyperphosphorylation of 4E-BP1 that impairs cell migration and tree elongation.
