Significance levels indicated by dots and asterisks (*P < 0.1, *P < 0.05) represent differences between litter treatment and controls, and lowercase letters represent significant (P < 0.05) differences between top, center, and bottom layers. Statistical significance between litter treatment was analyzed using an unpaired two-sided t-test and differences between depths using one-way ANOVA with Tukey’s HSD as the post-hoc test.
