The interaction and regulation of JUNV Z with L was divided into five separate steps, including: (1) Viral entry bringing inactivated L in RNP complex, (2) Z dissociation and L activation at low concentration of Z, 3) RNA synthesis initiation and elongation, (4) Nascent RNA’s exit from L, (5) Z synthesized at late stage binds and locks L in inactivated state for virion packaging.
