The box shows the quartiles of the dataset while the whiskers show the rest of the distribution, except for points that are determined to be “outliers” using a method that is a function of the inter-quartile range. The notch in the box displays the confidence interval around the median. The blue and red numbers above each figure indicate the number of data points in each box.
