We illustrate the results for the Actinopterygii a and Elasmobranchii b for the Seven Oceanic Regions. In this example, the grid cells presenting Standardized Effect Sizes higher than 2 with the presence of a Marine Protected Area are represented as dark purple, meanwhile the soft purple are the grid cells with SES > 2 and no MPA. The figure shows that 47% of grid cells identified with high concentrations of rarity coincide with MPAs for bony fish a and 63% for cartilaginous fish b.
