We calculate g(2)(0) (at t = 0), as an enhanced two-photon emission rate is a pre-requisite for a burst. The time at which the photon rate is maximum (\({t}_{\max }\)) as a function of the second-order correlation function (at t = 0) shows that \({t}_{\max } > 0\) only if g(2)(0) > 1. Inset: Maximum intensity, normalized by intensity at t = 0. In both plots, all nine atoms are initially excited, with polarization perpendicular to the array.
