The global compilation includes a total of 36 geographically disparate sites spanning a broad range of paleolatitudes (0–72°) (see Supplementary Fig. 1 and Supplementary Table 1). A Chert deposit types include biogenic (e.g., sponge spicules or radiolarian noted), nodules, and silica replacement. Biogenic chert deposits according to (B) lithology and (C) paleolatitudes.
